Organizations

Introduction to the Provider API and common organization workflows

Organizations in the Trinsic platform are software programs capable of issuing and verifying credentials running on a dedicated tenant in Trinsic's secure cloud environment.

Trinsic's Provider API allows developers to programmatically create and manage API keys for organizations, each with the capability to create, share, and verify credentials. The Provider API is a paid feature. Check out our Provider API reference app to see how it can be used in a web application.

At present, each organization has an issuer DID written to the network that you specify when you provision it. When an organization is created on the Sovrin MainNet, Sovrin charges us their standard fees, which we pass on to you. Learn more about our pricing model on our pricing page.

Networks

One of the key pieces of infrastructure in the verifiable credentials stack is the decentralized network that acts as the DID registry. This network is the foundation for issuing and resolving credentials.

Trinsic's vision is to be ledger and protocol agnostic - meaning that we'll be able to work with any production-ready ledger as they become available. Currently, the Sovrin Networks are the default networks. The Sovrin Staging and Builder Nets are test networks and free to use with Trinsic.

You are able to designate which networks your organizations are written to. This way, each can go to production when it's right for them.
